Over 35 billion designs have been made in 2025 on Canva, and its latest update is set to increase its popularity even more. Canva 2.0 has improved and development some existing features, whilst the recent Canva Create Uncharted event launched some key new features that could really benefit the small business world.
With the most popular uses of Canva currently being for social media and presentations, is this set to change with 2.0? Canva’s latest update introduces a host of new features that make the creative process simpler and more integrated than ever before.
I’ve been using the beta testing version of Canva 2.0 for a little while now as part of my role in the Canva community, and have now have the full 2.0 version as part of their initial launch. But what do I think of the latest additions? Here’s my rundown on all you need to know.
Making creating simple.
Canva's Visual Suite 2.0 introduces "One Design," a unified workspace where you can manage the entire design process, from planning to delivery, within a single platform. This means you can create branding documents, social visuals, presentations, and more all in one place, eliminating the need for separate tools and fragmented workflows, and I have to say, I’m a BIG fan! It’s a real time-saver for creating content and really helps to maintain branding, tone and synergy across your designs; particularly important for small business owners who need to consistently communicate their story.
Displaying Data.
Visual storytelling starts with data, and Canva is launching Canva Sheets, a visually focused spreadsheet tool that includes options to bulk create content, magic formulas, and the ability to analyse data easily within a document or presentation. It also integrates with data generators like Google Analytics and offers AI-generated insights and charts. This means that turning raw data into actionable insights has never been easier, as you can effortlessly embed charts and graphs into presentations and marketing materials.

Additionally, Magic Charts allows you to transform complex data into interactive visual stories, making it easier to communicate insights clearly and creatively.
And lets not forget about the integration with Flourish, which has now enhanced with Canva Magic Charts. Now linked with Canva Sheets, you’ll be recommended the best ways to display data and be able to sync with numerous data generators.
The 2.0 version have also launched Scrollable Docs, enabling immersive stories that bring information to life in a dynamic, engaging format. This is another love of mine – you can make the most dullest information come to life with scrollable docs.
Canva AI.
I’m not a big fan of the AI abilities on Canva. I often get VERY inaccurate results and so the launch of Canva AI isn’t as exciting as it probably should be for me, but it seems to have been improved and developed to make it easier to use. You are also able to refine designs and draft documents but PLEASE DON’T FORGET YOUR PERSONAL TOUCH. Nobody wants a bombardment of downloads and documents that are void of personality, tone and personal knowledge. A great foundation to work on but never use it to replace you and all you and your business stands for.

Canva Code.
In a nutshell - tell Canva what you need to be created and it will produce the code needed for it. The idea for Canva Code is that this new feature allows users to create interactive designs from simple text prompts, bringing the power of code to everyone. You can build apps, educational puzzles, games, and more, and add the custom-coded widget to your design, website, etc, as needed.
This feature opens up a whole new world of digital possibilities without the need for extensive programming knowledge.
And the extra bits.
Beyond these headline features, Canva 2.0 offers a range of refined tools that further enhance its value. With more stock photos, trending audios, innovative animations, transitions, and new editing capabilities (including voiceover features) the platform is constantly evolving into a comprehensive one-stop solution for all your design needs. The revamped Photo Editor offers capabilities similar to Adobe Photoshop, including background modifications and AI-generated environments.
Canva 2.0 is clearly built with small business owners in mind, streamlining processes while enabling a high degree of creative control. Its powerful suite of tools and the new elements launched are all set to ensure that visual storytelling remains accessible, efficient, and impactful. While the AI-assisted design may not be perfect, the Visual Suite 2.0 and scrolling docs are bits I LOVE!
